Themes of Art
I chose The Sacred Theme. The sacred theme purpose is to represent a world or believes of what we cannot see through art. In this Caravaggio's painting, "The Deposition of the Cross", he depicted the Jesus Christ's death, the deposition of his body from the cross, and eventually, the resurrection. A Catholicism believe, in which humans died, the spirit ascends to heaven, and reincarnate again. Caravaggio captured this scene of the catholic faith in this painting. His style was very revolutionary to that era. Nevertheless, he was one of the most famous painters of that period, his bright lights, dark shadows, the bodies' compositions, in which he captured the pain and sorrow expressions.
